From the founder: Big Potential

A course under Connect, one of the four moves. An introduction by Dr Alten du Plessis, founder of WorkSmart4Life.

Big Potential is for anyone at work whose best results depend on the people around them doing well too: a colleague in a busy team, a manager, or someone who leads from the middle without the title. You do not need a team of your own; the tools work with the circle of people you already have.

The course rests on one idea, that much of what you can reach becomes possible only with others, as they grow alongside you. It helps you tend that circle on purpose: who you draw on, how you lift others, how you give recognition, how you protect your energy, and how you keep momentum going. Where later research has refined a claim, the course says so and uses the better-supported version.

Inside, you begin with a baseline and the Invisible Ceiling Audit, then move through five practices: Surround, Expand, Enhance, Defend and Sustain. Along the way you draw your Star System Map of the people who steady you, connect you and stretch you; name your default way of praising in the Praise Prism Audit and keep a two-minute daily praise habit; and plan the start and end of your day in Build Your Moat. You close by mapping your own virtuous cycle and re-taking the baseline to see what has shifted.

On WorkSmart4Life this course sits under Connect, the move about teams, leading and conversation. If your team chose Relationships in Work Well Together, its recognition and influence practices take that block further. I suggest you begin with the first module and its baseline; a free 24-hour trial of the whole course is open to you.
