From the founder: TeamSmart — The Way We Do Things Here

A course under Connect, one of the four moves. An introduction by Dr Alten du Plessis, founder of WorkSmart4Life.

TeamSmart is for anyone who leads a group or belongs to one: a work team, a small business, a committee, a project crew. You can work through it together over a season, or alone as the one person who starts.

Every group that works together has a way of doing things, whether anyone chose it or not: who speaks, how mistakes are met, what gets praised, how a newcomer is received. This course helps your group see that culture, name it and practise it on purpose, so that it becomes a place where people do their best work together.

There is a module for each moment a group meets: When We Start, Every Week, When It Is Hard, When We Look Back, and When We See Each Other. You might agree a Team Charter, design Meeting Rituals for the opening and close of your meetings, plan a hard conversation with The Difficult Conversation Planner, or run an After-Action Review or a Starfish Retrospective. Some tools are for one person; others are group sessions run from a printed card with script, timing and debrief. How Safe Is My Team? stays private: a team sees only its own aggregate, never another member's answers.

On WorkSmart4Life this course sits under Connect, the move about teams, leading and conversation. Several of its tools are also activities in Work Well Together, so it is a natural next step for the block your team chose, and Meeting view gives you a ready opener for the weekly rhythm. The modules work in any order; I suggest starting with the moment your group is in now. A free 24-hour trial is open to you.
