Demonstration Ironwattle Engineering and its 68 people are invented. Nothing real is read, saved or sent. The figures come from the real engine of The Edge.

Step 6 of 6: Keep, tweak or swap, and what the employer sees

Thabo and the team did Keep, Tweak or Swap: most chose Keep, the same block for another cycle. Ironwattle’s contact sees Engineering as a group: its block, how many people are in each phase, the team’s average readings at the start and at Wrap, psychological safety, and the decision. No names, nothing for a group under 8.

The Edge: organisation report.

This is the report Lerato Dlamini (Head of People & Culture, invented) opens from her emailed link, as the contact on Ironwattle’s orders: turnout and growth, and each department’s Work Well Together cycle. Group figures only.

Organisation

Ironwattle Engineering

Figures for 6 October 2026. Turnout = the share of people on a list who used at least one tool in their WorkSmart courses that week. Growth = points earned per person over the last 4 weeks. Level runs from 1 (Apprentice) to 5 (Mentor).

Work Well Together

The cycle, team by team.

Each department works on one block of flourishing for about six months: Find (a first nine-block reading and one block chosen), Learn (the tools for that block), Own (a team experiment, week by week) and Wrap (a second reading, and Keep, Tweak or Swap). A team’s block is the one its people chose most often in Our One Block (a tie goes to the leader’s choice); its phase is the one most of its people are in.

Start and Wrap are averages of the same 8 people: everyone with both readings. Each ladder is 0 to 10, read with the course’s bands (up to 4 a place to start, up to 6 in the middle, above 6 a strength).

Team averages appear once 8 or more people have taken the first reading.

Design Office

Fewer than 8 people — figures hidden.

Quality & Safety

Fewer than 8 people — figures hidden.

Nothing a person writes, and nothing from Money and Work (the leader’s money conversation), is ever part of the report; economic security appears only as a team average of the nine-block reading.

Why some rows are hidden

Groups, never people.

  • Design Office (6 people) and Quality & Safety (5 people) are under 8, so the report shows no figures for them at all.
  • The organisation total still appears because the two hidden teams together hold 11 people, 8 or more, so neither small team can be worked out by subtraction. With only one small team, the total would be hidden too.
  • One person in Engineering chose “Leave me out of team figures”: they are not counted at all, in turnout or in the cycle.
  • People & Finance has 8 people, but only 6 have taken the first reading so far, so its nine-block averages wait until 8 have: an average is shown only when 8 or more people stand behind it.
  • Start and Wrap averages are of the same people (everyone with both readings), so the change shown is change, not a change in who answered.
  • No names, no individual rows, no downloads of individual data, and never anything a person wrote in a tool.
